When the Design Museum in London was creating their exhibition on the work of Brunel they asked PTC if
they would create two virtual reality models. One of the Royal Albert Bridge at Saltash and one of Brunel’s innovative tunneling shield.
I was taken on by PTC Manchester on a summer internship and given the task of creating the models, using their Pro/Desktop parametric CAD system. It was a intense introduction to 3D CAD!
Created from measurements of period drawings the models were then used to create fly-through animations. These were displayed next to physical models and archive images in the exhibition.
